While you wait
Recommended actions before the crew arrives
Several simple measures can help contain growth and safeguard your home before technicians begin work.
- Stop any active water flow from a leak and disconnect electronics in the vicinity if conditions permit.
- Relocate area rugs, furniture, and personal belongings from the moist section.
- Close the door to the impacted space to limit spore circulation throughout the residence.
- Avoid scrubbing or painting over mold growth, as this can disperse spores and conceal the underlying moisture issue.
- Record the onset of the problem and capture some images, which can assist with insurance documentation.
